I am the World

Give a life, and I’ll take it.

Give me your body, I’ll sell it.

Give me your soul, it’s all just a whole,

Give me your faith, I’ll break it.

Give me your love. I’ll crush it.

Give me enough. I want it.

Give me your pride, I’ll push it inside,

Grind it away, and you’ll hate it.

Give me your children, I’ll use them.

Lie to, deny and abuse them.

Sell them away, destroying their faith,

Until I find a new way, to reuse them.

Give me your friends, you don’t need them.

Give me them all, you don’t see them,

For what they are anyway,

So just give them away.

Just leave them.

Give me your attention. I need it.

All your attention. Believe it.

Don’t take your focus off me.

I’m what I need you to see.

Or I’ll lose you to all that I’m hiding.

Give me your life, you’re dying.

Give it all up. Quit trying.

Give me it all. I’ll watch as you fall.

I’ll destroy all that is left as you’re crying.

Give me your art. I love it.

Your music and lyrics, I want it.

You praise, religion and faith,

Believe only in me, you can touch it.

I am the world.

I want all that you have.

I am your definition of sin.

I own it all. The lies and the fads,

And I’m destroying you all from within.

I am the world.

I want all that you have.

I want your life, you can’t win.

I am the world.

I’m all that you have.

Believe just in me, I beg you.

I’m all that you see, so I’m all that you need,

So, you’ll go only where I, have led you.

I am the world.

I’m tearing you down.

I’m what you all think is so evil.

But still you don’t believe,

Because you don’t want to see,

So you still only go where I lead you.

The reality in which we all live is little more than a collective illusion.

We create conceptual ideas and instill into them an arbitrary meaning.

Good. Bad. Right. Wrong.

Sin. Virtue.

Life. Death.

None of these concepts are real.

They exist only in our minds.
